2023 New Attendee Retreat Application

Through fundraising and sponsorships we are so grateful to be able to fund two Newbie Retreat weekends in 2023!

To apply to attend the 2023 New Attendee Retreat: 

• All applicants must be women, aged 18+, and must be diagnosed with Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis) and/or have an ostomy or internal pouch (J-pouch, Koch-pouch, etc.)
• Fill out the application form, which includes choosing one of the following essay categories:
  • Emotional need to connect with others who can relate to diagnosis
  • Newly diagnosed individuals who have a need to learn more about IBD
• Every application will please submit a maximum 2-page essay about why you wish to attend the 2023 Newbie Retreat as it relates to the category you have chosen. You only need to submit ONE essay on the topic of the category you choose.
• All applications must be submitted by January 31st 2023. No late applications will be accepted.

Accepted participants will receive:

• Registration to the 2023 Newbie Retreat in East Stroudsburg, PA – May 5-7, 2023 and May 12-14, 2023. This includes all meals, lodging, and activities for the weekend. This does NOT include transport. Registration is valued at $250.

If your application is accepted you will be notified via the e-mail address provided in the application by February 15, 2023 so that there is ample time for you to book travel. Again, acceptance only covers registration for the weekend and NOT travel. We must receive your proof of travel to hold your spot.

Privacy Disclaimer/Release:

By submitting your application and essay to Girls With Guts, you consent that the content contained in the essay will be reviewed by members of the Girls With Guts Board. If selected, your essay and any photos or media included may be used by Girls With Guts for promotional materials or marketing purposes.
