Hi I’m Demi, and I was born and raised in Quezon City, Philippines. I was diagnosed with UC in 2015, just a few months after my 40th birthday. I currently reside in San Diego with my husband Jerry and our collection of books and plants (no pets or kids)!
I learned about GWG through a fellow IBD warrior, Tina. From there I connected with other patients through Instagram and Facebook.
I want to connect and learn from other patients and volunteer my time for a cause that makes a lasting and impactful difference. By being active in GWG, I hope that I’d inspire other Filipino patients to get diagnosed and speak about their IBD.
I enjoy experimenting with gut-friendly recipes in the kitchen. Aside from that I enjoy reading, dabbling with guitar-playing, learning French and watching Korean dramas on Netflix.
