My name is Alyssa. I live in Perth, Western Australia with my fiance Nick and we’re expecting our first child in July! I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in 2016.
After I was diagnosed, I felt really alone so I reached out to a lot of online forums and social media pages for support and to find other people like me. Girls With Guts was one of those and it’s just an amazing community.
I felt that writing about my experiences with Crohn’s would not only help other people like me feel less alone, but it would also help to spread awareness, which is something we always need!
I work full-time as an audio transcriber, listening to court cases and producing transcripts of them. I’m a writer, muay thai enthusiast and puzzle queen.
