The purpose of this group is to empower new voices and to create awareness and education around the additional challenges and disparities that women of color and of diverse backgrounds face living with IBD and/or ostomies.
Community Connection is a committee we created to empower new voices and to create awareness & education around the additional challenges and disparities that women of diverse backgrounds (racial, ethnic, age & sexual orientation) face while living with IBD and/or ostomies. Community Connection was founded with Tina Aswani-Omprakash of Own Your Crohn’s: Empowering the Chronically Ill & Disabled(#SouthAsian American Crohn’s & ostomy advocate), and we are grateful for her hard work and collaboration on forming this committee.
