During an infusion when I was trying out Stelara, my mom came across an article about Girls With Guts in a magazine in the waiting room. She told me about it and I looked it up online. I explored the website and found the social media accounts, which then led me to the online group on Facebook!
2023 was the hardest year of my life due to the flare I’m in. I got a lot of support from Girls With Guts at that time. I was very grateful to have been supported during that hard time. I want to pay that forward and help other girls out who might be in the same spot as me. Connecting with other women who have IBD is important to me, so volunteering can help me connect more. An organization like Girls With Guts brings women together! I love all of the things Girls With Guts does, such as the love your guts mail, butt baskets, “I gotta go” card, and much more. I want to be more involved because I love the concept of an organization led by women, for women.
Traveling is a big part of my life. I love to paint, crochet, go to the movies, play video games, be outside, and play board games. Hanging out with my loved ones (and cat haha!) is also important to me. I’m a substitute teacher and also just got into graduate school to pursue my masters in education.
