Healing Arts Collaborative Event – World IBD Day Edition

Join us Tuesday, May 12th at 6:30-7:15PM EST for a special collaborative World IBD Day event hosted by Connecting Pieces, Avery’s Hope, and GWG!

Come create with us! Join our World IBD Day Healing Arts gathering, a cozy, come-as-you-are virtual session where we slow down, make something beautiful, and remind ourselves just how much good there is to hold onto. All ages welcome, no art experience needed. Come ready to overflow.
Participants will each draw a simple jar and fill it with tiny drawings, words, symbols, and patterns guided by a few gentle prompts…things that feel good right now, someone they love, something they’re celebrating, and something that feels uniquely theirs. The purpose is to create a tangible, visual representation of the abundance of positivity we each carry, and to recognize that collectively, our jars overflow. It closes with an optional sharing moment that transforms individual creations into a felt sense of community.
This kind of directive offers meaningful benefits beyond the making itself! It gently shifts focus toward gratitude and presence, reduces stress through quiet, absorbing creative activity, and builds connection among participants who may often feel isolated in their experience. The resulting artwork is something participants can keep as a personal reminder of what is good in their lives right now.
For this activity, we recommend:
- Some coloring sheets or paper
- Any writing or coloring medium you would like to use (paint, crayons, markers)
Whether you are living with IBD, supporting someone who is, or simply looking for a moment of creative reflection, we invite you to join us.
And as a bonus – this session is open to GWGs, caregivers + kids as well!
