How did you learn about Girls With Guts?

I decided to volunteer with Girls With Guts because the organization has played such an important role in my own journey with chronic illness. Over the years I’ve seen the impact of their work in creating a safe space for women living with IBD and ostomies, and I wanted to be part of that mission. Giving back to a community that has given me so much support and empowerment felt natural. Volunteering allows me to use my experiences to encourage others, build connections, and remind women that they are never alone in their journey.I also was a scholarship recipient for the 10 year anniversary.

Why did you decide to volunteer with Girls With Guts?

I love everything you stand for and it aligns with what I stand for

When you are not volunteering with Girls With Guts what do you do with your time?

When I am not volunteering with Girls With Guts I dedicate my time to being a full time mom and wife while also pursuing my masters degree in psychology I’m also a BSN at the University of Maryland. I am deeply involved in patient advocacy where I share my journey with Crohn’s disease chronic illness and survivorship to raise awareness and fight for better healthcare access. I also create digital content to connect with others in the chronic illness community offering encouragement education and support. Balancing family advocacy education and content creation allows me to live with purpose while continuing to give back in different ways.
