How did you hear about Girls With Guts?

My lovely friend Melissa introduced me to the organization after my ostomy surgery.

Why did I decide to volunteer for Girls with Guts?

For many of us, our illnesses can be so isolating. After my Total Pelvic Exenteration that left me with a permanent colostomy and urostomy, I sought a community of women who understood the complexities of navigating the massive changes to my body. If there is a way I can give my talents to this community as well, even better!

When you’re not volunteering what do you do with your free time?

I currently serve as the Chief Operating Officer at New York City Center, a 2,200 seat performing arts venue in midtown Manhattan. We produce musical theater, dance and educational programs specifically serving New Yorkers. I love the arts and singing is a passion, you can often find me at a Karaoke Club with my husband and close friends! I’m also heavily involved with the organization Cervivor serving as a Cervical Cancer Advocate and the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network as a volunteer. I live in New Jersey and have recently began engaging in speaking engagements, telling my cervical cancer story to advocate for HPV vaccination and awareness. I love traveling with my husband, Kevin and my pug, Seymour!
