I came across the Girls With Guts Facebook group during a search for more resources after I was diagnosed with Fistulizing Crohn’s Disease in 2024. From there, I found the website and IG page, and started to get involved in activities and programming.
Living with Crohn’s Disease since 2005, I know that IBD affects much more than your physical health—it impacts every part of life. I wanted to volunteer with Girls With Guts because I believe in the power of connecting with others who truly understand those challenges. The organization’s mission of supporting and empowering women with IBD resonates with me, and volunteering is a meaningful way for me to give back, share my experiences, and help others feel supported on their own journey.
When I’m not volunteering with Girls With Guts, I work in the education sector supporting student information systems, data, and technology.
Outside of work, I’m a wife and a mom. A lot of our weekends revolve around family activities, trying new places to eat, and getting out to enjoy all the great things our city has to offer. I love reading, watching a good documentary, and spending time in my garden. I’m also a big fan of a long walk—it’s one of my favorite ways to clear my head and recharge.
