Dr. Arielle Kanters is a colorectal surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic. She received her General Surgery training at University of Michigan and completed a Colorectal Surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Her research interests include identifying barriers to the delivery of high quality care in colon and rectal surgery. Her clinical interests focus on treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and perianal fistulizing disease. She also serves as the Associate Program Director for the Colorectal Surgery Fellowship.

Caring for my IBD patient population is one of my greatest professional joys. I love the clinical challenge as well as the opportunity to form long lasting relationships with my patients. My goal is to treat the whole person and not the disease – and a major aspect of this is facilitating peer support opportunities. I feel the GWG is an amazing group that provides this level of support. I hope to provide clinical expertise that further strengthens the GWG mission.
