Hi! My name is Annemarie Finn and I live on beautiful Cape Cod Massachusetts. I am married to a wonderful, supportive man, have three grown children,  an amazing grandson, and am a dog mom. My brother, who has special needs, lives with us too.

How did you learn about Girls with Guts?

I was referred to Girls with Guts by someone who I have worked with in the past in the UOAA (United Ostomy Association of America)

Why did you decide to volunteer with Girls with Guts?

I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2018 and, as a result, have had a urostomy since January 2019. The good news is I am here to talk about it. Since my diagnosis and treatment, I decided I wanted to share my experiences to help people with their own journeys. I knew literally nothing about bladder cancer or ostomies initially but discovered, through knowledge, I had power. I was able to get back some control of my life. I appreciate Girls with Guts giving me the opportunity to share my story on the blog to achieve my goal of helping others.

When you are not volunteering with Girls With Guts what do you do with your time?

In my real life, I am a high school English teacher. I love what I do. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my dog and my family. I walk, hike, swim, and  kayak here on the Cape and in Maine.
